One problem I have with many reviews is that they often discuss a product right out of the box without using the item for a long time, learning its features, and knowing how those features might be put to good use. Many reviewers don't use the product at all, let alone for months or years. America's Test Kitchen is sometimes guilty of these "first impressions" reviews, although they do have their long-standing favorites and they are outspoken about the benefits of their most-loved small appliances and utensils.
