Peach Banana Strawberry Smoothie

Serves 2 to 3.

This smoothie is sweet and delicious, benefiting not only from flavorful fruits and juice, but also vanilla flavoring in the protein powder. The seeds, whether chia or another variety (such as flax seed) add nutrition, but these can be omitted if you don’t have them in your cupboard.

Ingredients:

1 medium banana
1½ cups (355ml) orange juice
1 tablespoon chia seeds (or your favorite)
1 scoop (1 oz./28g) vanilla protein powder
8 ounces (227g) frozen peach pieces
1 cup (110g) frozen sliced strawberries

Directions:

Combine all the ingredients, in the order above, in the jar of a high-end blender such as a Vitamix. Start blending at low speed and slowly increase the speed to high. Blend about 40 seconds or until smooth.

If you own a conventional blender that might be damaged by ice, allow the frozen ingredients to thaw before blending.
